Defuse Nuclear War is organizing for an end to U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, and diplomacy, not violence, as a means to achieve nonproliferation.
We are tired of endless wars. The catastrophic attacks on Iran have already resulted in devastating loss of life, infrastructure damage, and destruction of cultural sites and medical facilities. Escalation under the banner of “regime change” has failed, again and again for decades, destabilizing societies with devastating, far-reaching consequences.
Trump’s threats of nuclear use and civilizational destruction are inherently destructive, and will have consequences for many years to come. Even a so-called “low-yield” nuclear attack could easily be more destructive than the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Iran’s people stand to lose everything from such an attack–but people around the world will be made more vulnerable if nuclear weapon use is on the table.Flimsy, disingenuous ceasefires do little to alleviate the danger of the situation.
Congress must step up now and do everything in its power to rein in this unjust, illegal war.
Iran does not.

I’m calling to express my outrage and disappointment over U.S. and Israeli action toward Iran, and to demand a permanent end to hostilities.
These attacks have killed thousands and made an already desperate situation worse. Decades of sanctions have already inflicted severe suffering on the Iranian people while failing to weaken the regime.
The Trump administration claims that its actions somehow serve the goal of nonproliferation, when in fact they make the situation more dangerous and less stable. I urge you to champion diplomacy and prevent policies that risk putting us into further chaos.
Please take a stand against military action and support initiatives like entering a nuclear deal with Iran to ensure a path to de-escalation and stability. Please let me know where you stand on this critical issue.
