June 16 marks the one year anniversary of the death of Daniel Ellsberg, renowned scholar and activist whose release of the Pentagon Papers sparked a national crisis of conscience during the Vietnam War. Defuse Nuclear War, Rootsaction Education Fund and Ellsberg Initiative for Peace and Democracy are calling for a week of action honoring peacemaking and whistleblowing from June 10 – 16.
Join Madison for a World BEYOND War on a Daniel Ellsberg Peace Walk and vigil on Monday June 10 from 11 till 2. This walk will include a stop at the historic Madison Monday Noon Vigil for Peace at Doty St. and MLK, Jr. Drive. Our focus will be our cry for permanent ceasefire and a just peace process in Palestine and beyond.
